The Keyblade, Wastes

After talking with a colleague of mine (Mr President) over the lack of variety in my art, and my lament over my inability to produce anything different i set a challenge for myself. Something purely cinematic, no characters (Though you could count the Keyblade as one) with some dynamic lighting and actual colour, which is a far cry from my usual monotone stuff.

After outlining a horizon, i decided to put towers down, and soon found myself not liking said towers. I gave one of the towers a little more of a detailed silhouette and found myself thinking about Kingdom Hearts 3. Thus, the path was set and a Keyblade was born.

I've used a good few photo references to give this some grit, and texture. Saves time drawing stuff like this. Played around with colour, lighting direction and such and there it is.

About an Hour and 20 minutes work, if i timed myself right. Though this was far from a speed painting. Best to sometimes just draw with the intent to draw.
